Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital opens new parking structure, providing more access for patients and visitors

Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital is excited to announce the official opening of its new parking structure on campus. The five-story garage adds 614 new parking spaces and includes 24 handicap spaces and 12 charging stations for electric vehicles. Levels 1 and 2 are designated for patients and visitors, and it is free to park.

“The opening of the parking structure allows our patients better access to the care they need close to home,” said Shanna Johnson, President of Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital, and Interim President of Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. “Our hospital has experienced demand faster than we could have projected, and as such there is a critical need for more parking options. We look forward to continuing to serve the health care needs of our patients, while opening the door for more community events and engagement activities within our four walls.”

The garage also offers convenience for hospital patients and guests with plenty of parking spots to get to their appointments on time and a covered walkway connecting the structure to the Main Entrance of the hospital. And while the garage was much needed on the medical campus, it will be designated for patients, providers, and some team members.

“I know this project has been a long time coming for our team members and patients, and I appreciate everyone’s patience while it was completed,” said Johnson. “The end result is very much worth the wait.”
