BIRMINGHAM, MI — The Junior
League of Birmingham, MI (JLB) is pleased to announce their first annual Volunteer-A-Thon on Friday, April 12,
2019 through Saturday, April 13, 2019. This will be a 26.2 hour marathon of
continuous voluntarism where League members will participate in various efforts
benefiting Oakland County community outreach programs. The Volunteer-A-Thon
seeks to build awareness for the Junior League of Birmingham and the
organization’s commitment to supporting women in crisis in the community
through trained voluntarism.
Over 80 Junior League members
will participate in the marathon effort which will include:

Providing and serving meals at Haven of Oakland County, Grace
Centers of Hope, and Hope Warming
Center in Pontiac
=
Cleaning and preparing spring gardens at Lighthouse of Oakland County and Oakland Family Services
=
Cleaning an apartment home for human trafficking survivors
for Hope Against Trafficking
=
Providing an after-school fun night with parents and children
at CARE House of Oakland County
=
Over the midnight hours, volunteers will be making fleece tie
blankets for donation to organizations in need, including Common Ground and Fleece
& Thank You

community. Continuing this legacy with both longtime and new community partners
is an integral piece of our Mission, and we look forward to an impactful 26.2
