Join Stark Parks and the Stark County Park District Library for our annual holiday kick-off, Here Comes Santa! Bring your camera for a photo opportunity with Santa and stories. Meet our team of "reindeer"(our TAILblazers--but don't tell them!) and a showing of a classic Christmas film in the lower level. Scheduled activities include:

AJ Harris Tactical Grand Opening

AJ Harris Tactical invites the public to come in and see the range and all of the new completed projects.  Included will be multiple informational booths to include: .50 Caliber Cafe', Smitty's Rancho, NRA, Twisted River, The Well Armed Woman, Ladies of the Range, AJ Harris Tactical will also have a booth for any questions regarding their memberships, the Massillon Gun Range, classes, events and private lessons.    The following is a list of events for the day: 9am-10am Tour & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, 10am-8pm Range open to the Public & Members, 8am-9pm Evening Shooting Event & Giveaway.  Aj Harris Tactical was established in May 2014 and quickly outgrew the space it was occupying.  In May of 2015 the store moved to the 143 1st. Canalway Bicycle Poker Ride

 

On Sunday May 22th, 2016 Massillon Area Greenways Inc., the Stark County Bicycle Club, and Ernie’s Bicycle Shop will be sponsoring the Canalway Bicycle Poker Ride on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail. Riding 16 miles on the Towpath Trail, cyclists will stop at five checkpoints along the way, picking up a playing card at each stop. When they arrive back at the start, they play their hand against the hands of the other riders. Prizes will be awarded to the top ten hands with other prizes given to riders who draw jokers from the deck. Participants will begin at the Lake Avenue Trailhead, located at the corner of Route 21 and Lake Avenue in Massillon, Ohio, and may start any time between 9:00AM and 1:00PM. This is not a race! Entry fee is $5.00 per hand and riders can play as many hands as they wish. Proceeds will be used for local trail projects. All ages are welcome! Spring Hill will be open for house tours, and the grounds will be filled with exhibits, activities, and historic displays.
