Ryan's Ride
It’s time to announce the Ryan’s Ride 6th Annual Ride-Walk. It is hard to believe that it has been six years since we started out on this wonderful adventure of helping people. Thank you to all who have helped raise money so that we can continue to help others. We are proud to once again be at the Plymouth waterfront June 20, 2015 for the 6th annual event, which includes a bike ride, walk, craft fair, car show, music and food.
Riders and walkers online registration is available at www.ryansride.net. The bike course is 12 mile scenic route to Myles Standish State Forest and back to the waterfront. The walking loop is an enjoyable 5k (3.1 mile) from the waterfront through downtown and back to the waterfront. Entry fee is $20. Prizes are awarded to the highest sponsorship collectors.
Crafter and food vendor forms are also available at www.ryansride.net Crafters fee is $50 for 10x10 + $15 craft donation. Food vendor fee is $75 and one day permit (link available at www.ryansride.net).
Showcasing the event will be a selection of handpicked vehicles.
An update of Ryan's Ride's progress in the past year;
February 2014, we went to the State House and testified on behalf of Ryan's Ride bill to make it a law, that in the event you get a knock on the door telling you your loved one has been involved in a life-threatening accident, if a ride is needed, the police officer will secure a ride to take you to your loved one. At this time, we do not know the fate of the bill yet, but we are hopeful that we can get this passed. You can find out more about our bill at https://malegislature.gov/Bills/188/House/H2136.
October, we teamed up with the Red Cross to help give back to the community; it was a successful Blood Drive.
November, we held our annual spaghetti dinner. There was a lot of good food, music, and over 100 raffles.
Amazon helps charities with their Smiles Program and Ryan's Ride is now part of the Smiles program. If you follow the link you can find out how you can help Ryan's Ride https://smile.amazon.com/ch/27-0521125.
Please ask your friends, family, and coworkers to join us to walk or ride for Ryan's ride on June 20th, 2015. What you do today could help a family tomorrow.
