Make-A-Wish

www.northdakota.wish.org

Inspire hope. Deliver strength. Together, we can change the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions in the Minot area. In honor of World Wish Day, here are three ways Make-A-Wish North Dakota invites you to make an impact:

1. Share your time - we are in need of local volunteers;
2. Transfer your expiring airline miles -  give wishes wings; or
3. Invest your treasures - cash and in-kind good/services are the magic to our mission!
Being a part of Make-A-Wish gives children renewed strength to fight their illnesses, brings families closer together and unites entire communities through hope. You can change lives, one wish at a time. For more information call 701.280.9474 or visit our website at northdakota.wish.org.

Minot Area Community Foundation

www.centerforcommunitygiving.com

Incorporated March 16, 2000, the Minot Area Community Foundation mission is “dedicated to improving the quality of life in the greater Minot area.”   Donations to the Foundation are in the form of planned gifts from individuals and families.   The Community Foundation also works with other foundations, corporations, and organizations who wish to establish funds to benefit non-profit organizations of their choice within the area.   Named funds, both large and small help create a permanent endowment and a lasting legacy in each donor's name.

The uniqueness of the Minot Area Community Foundation is that it represents all non-profit organizations in our area.   Guided by the wishes of the donors and the needs of the greater Minot community, the Foundation awards grants and scholarships to a wide variety of non-profit organizations throughout our area.   >From arts to education… human services to economic development, the Minot Area Community Foundation was founded to provide resources to all types of area projects. With the increasing need for the services provided by nonprofit organizations and fewer resources of support, fundraising and endowment building becomes critically important for future stability and community development.

The vision for the Foundation is to build a better tomorrow for the Minot region by linking donor’s philanthropic interests with community needs. The Foundation engages the community and offers solutions to investors to build a better tomorrow. The Minot Area Community Foundation truly is the center for community giving.  Log onto www.magicgive.org to learn more.

MISSION STATEMENT:

To promote and advocate for the entire Minot area building industry through education, guidance, and communication.

The Minot Association of Builders (MAB) is a non-profit trade organization that was established in 1965. Our goal is to promote the home building industry, homeownership and affordable housing in Minot, North Dakota and the surrounding areas.  Builder and Associate members (those who provide services, directly and indirectly, related to the home building industry) join MAB because they are highly skilled, highly trained professionals who are committed to the home building industry.

For over 50 years, MAB has been your voice in the building industry. We strongly believe that a united voice for the industry can accomplish much more than an individual one and are constantly working for the good of the industry in Minot, North Dakota and the United States. Because membership is 3-in-1 (local, state and national), there are dedicated staff and members monitoring legislative issues and governmental rules and regulations that affect the building industry on every level.

Vision Zero

Vision Zero

Vision Zero. Zero fatalities. Zero excuses

The Vision Zero strategy aims to establish a culture of personal responsibility where motor vehicle fatalities and serious injuries are recognized as preventable and not tolerated. The mission is to eliminate fatalities and serious injuries caused by motor vehicle crashes.

Every driver and vehicle occupant in North Dakota can help meet the Vision Zero goal by taking personal responsibility when traveling on the road. This means wearing a seat belt at all times, transporting children in child passenger safety seats appropriate for the child’s age, weight and height, driving distraction-free, driving sober (i.e. not under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs), and obeying all posted speed limits.
