United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore's  mission is to create and enhance opportunities for making lasting impact in Education, Financial Stability and Health for every person in our community. or over 76 years, UWLES has been serving all communities in Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. 

United Way helps Lower Shore residents obtain Educational Success by reducing the achievement gap

between low and middle income students through strong scholastic and mentoring programs, Financial Stability by advancing the economic security of families and individuals by addressing barriers to financial independence, and Good Health by improving access to and awareness of local health and wellness services. We achieve this by mobilizing the

Advocating and promoting excellence and opportunity for all public school students through active partnership with the community and to provide additional funding for programs and initiatives not included in the school budget.

A local, grass-roots nonprofit offering awareness, education, and support on Delmarva for men and women diagnosed with breast cancer, their families and friends. Monthly support groups are available in Dorchester, Wicomico, Worcester, and Somerset Counties in Maryland as well as in Accomack County, Virginia. Virtual support groups are available as well.
