Direct all aspects of the operations of multiple branches to ensure effective and efficient operations, quality of member service, and compliance with existing regulations and policies for each location. Participate in the strategic planning and management of credit union branches. Manage the administrative and member service activities of the credit union. Ensure that all products and services of the credit union are promoted and that quality member service is delivered to all members. Provide leadership guidance to branch managers and employees. 

Operations includes IRAs, share certificates, new account opening, loan application and dispersing, financial transactions, shared branching, vault/cash handling and the ATM program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in the credit unions long and short term strategic planning as it relates to branch operations. 
  2. Establish strategic planning parameters and monitor compliance goals and objectives. Keep abreast of changes in the industry and changing trends, react to changes in a way that maintains competitiveness. 
  3. Communicate goals and direction with branch managers to ensure clear understanding of rules, regulations, requirements, and expectations.
  4. Contribute to updating the annual business plan.
  5. Attend required meetings and events to include weekly executive meeting, ALCO and Board meeting, HIPPOP and mandatory management events.
  6. Attend necessary conferences to remain up-to-date on rules and regulations.
  7. Implement and monitor procedures to comply with credit union policies and governmental rules and regulations. Work with other department heads to maintain consistency in credit union policies and procedures. Develop and apply new policies and procedures for branch operations. Ensure that credit union policies, procedures, practices, and documentation meet federal and state regulations. Ensure staff training and compliance.
  8. Prepare budget for branches and analyze for adherence. 
  9. Oversee the development and monitoring of performance standards. Provide mentoring and coaching to support and develop managers and staff. Develop and/or assist in the development training for branch personnel. Assist branch managers in resolving complex member complaints.
  10. Ensure safety and security for each branch.
  11. Ensure the courteous and considerate interface with members at all times. 
  12. Resolve difficult or non-routine member issues to include working with supervisory committee on member complaints.
  13. Assist in developing a sales program to cross-sell products.
  14. Communicate credit union goals and direction with all employees to ensure clear understanding of rules, regulations, requirements and expectations.
  15. Oversee the ATM program.
  16. Represent the credit union in a courteous, efficient and professional manner at all times. Maintain positive attitude when dealing with members and co-workers. Work cooperatively in a team environment with other staff members.
  17. Maintain professional appearance and good attendance.
  18. Ensure highest level of accuracy and confidentiality in all credit union business.
  19. Comply with BSA regulations when performing all job requirements, and stay abreast of updates/requirements of BSA/OFAC/CIP through the completion of training courses assigned annually by trainer as well as meetings discussing BSA compliance activities.
Requirements

Knowledge and Skills:

Education: College Degree Preferred

Experience: Credit Union Management, previous management experience in operations preferred

Other Skills: Must have good communication skills, including written, verbal, and public speaking. Creativity and knowledge of target marketing required. Must possess organizational and analytical skills; must be able to coordinate a variety of projects. Must have sales skills and be self-motivated and able to work independently. Must be professional in dress and appearance. Proficient with use of personal computer and applications, including but not limited to spreadsheets, databases, word processing, presentation tools, and online systems. Ability to apply common sense and the ability to reason are expected. Ability to analyze and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents is essential.

Physical skills:

Required to sit, talk and hear. Must be able to stand at events for extended time periods. Required to use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and adjustable focus. Must be able to lift and carry 20-pound objects.
