Job Profile: Under direction of the Fire Marshal, the Deputy Fire Marshal I enforces the fire laws and fire codes through inspections, plan reviews, and fire origin and cause investigations. Deputy Fire Marshal I, performs these tasks under close supervision and at times with complete independence, depending on the complexity of the specific duty being performed. Regularly on-call and required to be available to respond to calls 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, as necessary.Preferred Education: Thirty (30) College credits towards a degree in fire science, public or business administration, or a related field (equivalent experience/education will be considered).Preferred Experience: Three (3) years of experience in fire mitigation, prevention, or law enforcement.
