WHO: WALKERS, Volunteers, & Donors from Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia
PURPOSE:
To support those living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias
Alzheimer’s Tennessee is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization focused on serving those living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, promoting brain health through education, and championing global prevention and treatment efforts. The independent organization founded in 1983 raises funds to coordinate support groups and resource referrals, educate family and professional caregivers, provide financial assistance, and advocate for greater research and enhanced policies.
THE WALK: The
event itself is a Saturday morning filled with celebration!
Participants find LIVE musical entertainment, FREE food,
door prizes, and fun for all ages. Even pets are included! The WALK is optional and symbolic.
Most donations are secured prior to the WALK and
turned in on or before the day of the WALK. Pre-registered WALKers who raise $50
will qualify for a t-shirt (distributed to eligible WALKers at the WALK).
Individuals, teams, and youth may continue turning in funds for 30 days following the event. Final fundraising totals will determine Top Prize winners who are traditionally recognized – along with Corporate Donors – at an Appreciation Luncheon.
