Universal Development and Construction (UDC) and Mitch Cox Companies (MCC) are pleased to announce their plans to build additional townhomes and apartments at Pickens Bridge Village in Piney Flats, TN. The planned expansion will add an additional 175 units to the community on a recently purchased 11.9 acres of land adjacent to the current community. Site preparation is already underway, with the first units scheduled for completion near the end of 2017 or beginning of 2018.
These two companies have been developing multifamily communities together for over a decade in the Tri-Cities, with more than 2,000 homes either constructed or in the development pipeline. First Horizon Declares Quarterly Dividends

First Horizon National Corp.'s (NYSE:FHN) board of directors has approved payment of a quarterly cash dividend on its common stock of $.09 per share. The dividend is payable July 3 to the common shareholders of record on June 9.

The board also approved payment of a quarterly cash dividend of $1,550.00 per share on First Horizon’s Non-Cumulative Perpetual Preferred Stock, Series A ("Series A Preferred Stock"). This equates to a cash dividend of $.387500 per Depositary Share (NYSE:FHN PrA), which each represent a 1/4000th interest in a share of the Series A Preferred Stock. The dividend is payable July 10, to shareholders of record on June 23.... Read more

Progress toward long-term “bonefish” financial goals continued in the first quarter at First Horizon National Corp. (NYSE:FHN). Net interest income, deposits and loans were up significantly year over year, with strong performance in growth markets and commercial loans, particularly specialty banking areas. Credit quality reflected continued excellent underwriting discipline. With revenue stable and expenses down, the efficiency ratio improved from the same period last year. The company increased its quarterly common dividend by 29 percent during the quarter and closed its acquisition of Coastal Securities on April 3, just after the quarter ended.

“I am pleased with the continued progress we made in the first quarter toward our long-term profitability goals,” said Bryan Jordan, First Horizon’s chairman and CEO. “Loan pipelines and commitments remain strong as our bankers focus on quality opportunities, credit quality remains excellent, our relationships with current and new customers continue to grow, and the closing of the Coastal acquisition adds talented people, new products and new customers to enhance our fixed income business. Milligan College will host its 4th Annual RISE Above Conference on Thursday, April 20, from 2 to 8 p.m. in Derthick Hall. This event is free and open to the public.

At 7 p.m. in Wilson Auditorium, Dr. Shauna Nefos Webb, a Milligan counseling and psychology professor, will deliver a lecture titled “I Got Here as a Student First,” highlighting the narratives of African American athletes at an NCAA Division I STEM Institution, which she says “run counter to the negative and largely inaccurate portrayal of black college athletes that the media tends to perpetuate.”

Milligan’s RISE Above conference is an opportunity for both undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines and majors to present their mentored research. Continuing a tradition launched following the celebration of its 150th anniversary in 2014, First Tennessee once again celebrated its employees’ year-round volunteer service on March 25, the company’s 153rd anniversary, dubbed “March of Service”.

During 2016, First Tennessee’s employees logged more than 23,000 hours of volunteer service at charitable and civic organizations, and participated in more than 4,700 unique volunteer events. The value of employee service exceeded $541,000. First Tennessee employees also served as board members of more than 130 nonprofit organizations.

In the Tri-Cities/Northeast Tennessee area, more than 40 employees provided nearly 1,550 hours of volunteer service during 2016, generating a community impact of more than $36,000.... Read more
