The Armed Forces Day Parade will begin at 10 a.m., heading west on C Avenue from 6th Street, before turning north on 11th Street. Participants will then head north on Fort Sill Boulevard before ending on the corner of Fort Sill Blvd. and Ferris Ave. Post parade events will be held at Elmer Thomas Park from noon until midnight.
Billed in years past as the largest Armed Forces Day parade in the nation, more than 100 participants are set to march in Lawton Fort Sill’s procession. With the theme for the event set as “Legacy Built on Sacrifice,” bands, community and business floats, military officials and veterans will unite in tribute to the men and women who have served our nation, past and present. This showing of solidarity helps to renew the community’s support for our local soldiers, as well as soldiers serving abroad.
The luncheon will precede the parade, taking place at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 20.
Sponsorship opportunities here.
Parade entry forms are available here, and will be accepted up to Friday, May 13.
