The History Club of Cameron University is hosting a fundraiser at the Historic Mattie Beal House titled "Death, Mourning, and the Afterlife: 1850s to 1930s." Attendees will tour the beautiful historic home and as they move from room to room they will be treated to speakers giving short presentations about a variety of topics related to the theme. Presentation topics include the Spritualist Movement, Victorian Mourning and Funerary practices, Serial Killers, Death Symbolism in Art, the Paranormal, and Fort Sill Apache Ritual Dance. Some presentations will include period antiques related to the topic.We recommend pre-purchasing tickets as quantities are limited and only a few will be available at the door.
