Refreshed. This word is befitting the multi-million dollar renovation of the 816,000+ square-foot super regional shopping center. Dakota Square has a new look and it certainly is a breath of fresh air.
Multiple enhancements including a new color palette of soft blues, grays and muted earth tones for the mall’s common area. The existing flooring was replaced with new tile and carpet, and interior finishes reflect the area’s natural beauty with looks of natural stone and wood. Contemporary new overhead drum and pendant lighting create a light, airy ambiance. The food court was updated with new furniture and seating configurations designed for family and community dining. New soft seating replaced the mall’s wooden benches, creating ‘conversation’ areas perfect for relaxing and chatting with friends. There are also three separate charging stations strategically placed in the center for use by our guests and are free of charge.
Dakota Square recently had a very robust Wi-Fi system installed. This service is also free to guests. Dakota Square welcomed SRT Communications as one of their newest business partners. SRT is the sponsor of the new Wi-Fi system.

A landmark in the region, Dakota Square Mall serves a wide trade area reaching across the Canadian border into the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The mall was originally built in 1980 and expanded several times, including the addition of Barnes & Noble in 2008 and a new nine-Screen Carmike Cinema.
Dakota Square Mall is a regional shopping destination anchored by Herberger’s, JCPenney, Sears and Target. The mall features more than 75 stores and eateries including our newest food court tenant Fat Daddy Pizza, Grizzly’s Wood-Fired Grill, McDonald’s, Olive Garden, a food court with 9 eateries and a 9 screen Carmike Cinema. Trauma is an emotional response to a distressing event that overwhelms a person’s ability to cope. The long -term effects can include sleeping disorders, flashbacks, extreme tension and anxiety, depression, drug and alcohol addictions, eating disorders, self-injury, and suicide. Too many people are suffering from past traumas, believing there is nothing that can be done, when in fact, there is help.
Energy healing is a holistic practice that activates the body ’s subtle energy systems to remove the blocks that have been created from trauma. By breaking through these energetic blocks, one of the greatest benefits is stress reduction and relaxation, which triggers the body ’s natural healing abilities. The calming effect this has also promotes a peace that allows the mind to think more clearly. Energy healing is not about forcing anything, it is about the releasing of energy blocks so natural healing may be take place.
The Difference – A Holistic Approach is a local non-profit that assists those who have suffered trauma. We will pay the cost of three energy healing sessions by local practitioners.
