Dean Mazzoni joined Franciscan Health Michigan City as president and CEO in 2016, focusing on areas of strategy, governance and leadership. Dean successfully guided the hospital through the construction and opening of the news hospital at Interstate 94 and U.S. 421. Under his leadership, Franciscan Health Michigan City was recognized by the Michigan City Chamber of Commerce as Large Business of the Year for 2021. Dean has 32 years of healthcare experience and 20 years of administrative leadership experience. He received his undergraduate degree in social and behavioral sciences from Johns Hopkins University, a master’s degree in public health/health care administration from Rutgers University/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and a master’s degree in business administration, with a concentration in corporate finance/strategy, from the University of Notre Dame. Dean is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and is a member of the American Public Health Association. Dean and his wife, Michele, have two sons, Nicholas and Samuel.
