Ridgeland, MS

Dear Valued Partners:

We hope everyone in our community is listening to the guidance of public health authorities and taking all the necessary precautions to keep themselves and their families safe. We know these times continue to be difficult and we are here to lend a helping hand in any way we can.

In accordance with the Shelter-In-Place order issued by Governor Reeves, the Ridgeland Visitor Center is currently closed. We are only allowing one staff member at a time at our Ridgeland Tourism Commission business office to perform essential tasks needed to keep up our operations. All staff members are currently working from home and are readily available to answer any questions or assist you in any way.

STATE OF MS EXECUTIVE ORDER
As I am sure you are all aware, Governor Tate Reeves signed a new executive order establishing a statewide shelter-in-place for Mississippi to slow the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health of all who call our state home. This order will remain in force until 8:00 a.m., Monday, April 20th. A link to the official order can be found here.

EXECUTIVE ORDER AS IT PERTAINS TO RIDGELAND
In accordance with Executive Order 1466, the Barnett Reservoir is currently closed to all park and water activities including power boating, sailing, kayaks, picnic areas, disc golf course, and fishing piers. Walking and biking trails outside of the park will remain open, but users are asked to follow social distancing practices. For a complete listing of all Barnett Reservoir area closings and activities click here.

Also outlined within Executive Order 1466, is the ceasing of all in-store operations for businesses deemed non-essential. While customers are not allowed within the stores, these businesses are highly encouraged to utilize online platforms to service goods and provide customers with pick up and delivery options that adhere to all safety and hygiene practices. These options can include shipping, direct delivery, or curbside pickup as long as they are done in a manner that does not jeopardize the health of the business owner, the employees or the buyer. Restaurants may continue their operations but are limited to similar delivery methods including drive-thru, curbside, or direct delivery services.
