in Parker county will take place March 17 through May 11. All surrounding
counties will also be conducting Walk Across Texas this Spring as well. We are challenging all Parker County families, friends, neighborhoods,
organizations, worksites, schools and churches to participate and to see which teams
and individuals walk the most miles.
Walk Across Texas is an eight week walking program that has documented
success in improving wellness and physical activity among adults and
youth. The program is simple and
free. Form teams of up to 8, keep track
of walking for eight weeks. The challenge is for the team to walk the 830 miles
which is equivalent to walking across the state of Texas.

Celebration the final week. All of these activities are optional and each group
can tailor the events to their own needs.
All teams must be registered on-line by Friday, March 22. For those who
register their team by the deadline, their names or class will go into a random
drawing for a prize.
We will recognize teams and individuals who walk the most miles. We will
also have a contest for teams who give their team a catchy name.
