Topic: Diversity & Inclusion: Undoing Unconscious Bias by Inclusive Design

- Most informed leaders
have learned about unconscious bias and heard that everyone has
it. So what does the inclusive leader do to overcome unconscious biases?
Wake up! In this session, we will examine unconscious biases, uncover the
underpinnings of inclusive leadership and explore methods that inclusive
leaders can use to overcome the attitudes, blind spots and roadblocks
that undermine inclusive cultures.
Prep: Participants can prepare by completing an Implicit Association Test
and/or acquiring some of the additional resources provided(see below).
- Learning Goal: To
identify your current level of implicit (unconscious) bias.
- Instructions: Complete
the Implicit Association Test: Instructions below
- Go to the Implicit
Association Test website: https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/takeatest.html
- Select “take a test”
(from options along the top of the screen) and agree to continue by
selecting “I wish to proceed”.
- Take as many of you
like, but include at least 2 of the following 7 options: race,
gender-career, age, sexuality, weight, religion, or disability. Each
takes approximately 10-minutes to complete.
- Your results are
private and will not be shared. We will discuss the assessment itself
(not your personal results) in session.
