Olde Towne Medical & Dental Center Announces New Executive Director Starting August 1, 2020

Olde Towne Medical & Dental Center’s Board of Directors is proud to announce that Aaron Thompson has been appointed the new Executive Director of the rural safety net clinic serving James City County, the City of Williamsburg and York County residents. The clinic focuses on serving the uninsured and underinsured of our community and Mr. Thompson brings a wealth of skills and knowledge to lead the center into its next phase of growth and impact while continuing its mission. This news marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for Olde Towne. Multiple qualifications led the Board of Directors to choose Mr. Thompson including his ability to actively increase fundraising while motivating his team during challenging circumstances, his ability to implement successful metrics for monitoring and maintaining high standards in the facilities he has managed as well as his constant attention to patient care. With Mr. Thompson’s leadership and depth of experience leading and growing health programs, the Board is confident that the patients and staff at Olde Towne will receive the expertise and guidance that they have come to expect. Olde Towne’s Board Chairman Christopher James says “Aaron is an accomplished healthcare leader with the experience and dedication necessary to build and expand upon Olde Towne’s success.” He added, “Aaron’s deep understanding of community-based healthcare, as well as the needs of its patients and healthcare providers, will continue to help us deliver the highest quality care to our patients.”

Current Executive Medical Director of Olde Towne Medical & Dental Center to Retire July 31, 2020

Dr. William J. Mann, Jr. is retiring from his position as Executive Medical Director of Olde Towne Medical & Dental Center, as announced by Christopher James, OTMDC Board Chair. Dr. Mann will retire effective July 31, 2020, a position he has held since 2013.
During his years of service at Olde Towne, Dr. Mann has markedly enhanced the delivery of medical and dental care to the residents of James City County, York County and the City of Williamsburg. “Dr. Mann has had a significant impact on the services provided by Olde Towne, enhancing both the medical and dental care provided by the center while consistently putting the health and welfare of all patients first. It was under his leadership that the organization has not only continued to grow but been recognized as a leading provider of care to the under served community while improving efficiency and achieving operational excellence. The Board and staff very much appreciate his leadership and wise counsel and wish him the best in his well-deserved retirement” added Christopher James, chair of the Board of Directors.... Read more
The Vacation Channel Builds Streaming Channels to Bolster Tourism

The Vacation Channel, a Williamsburg-based tourism business, has launched streaming versions of its in-room hospitality channel on Roku and Amazon Fire TV platforms, allowing it to reach viewers nationwide and in select international markets. The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation aims to improve its tourism economy with plans to build a new outdoor event space across from the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center.
