Mission, KS – A key part of the NEJC Chamber’s professional and personal development program, Leadership NEJC, is giving back to the community. Each year the class undertakes a group project that benefits underserved populations in and around Northeast Johnson County. This year’s class is diving into spring with three different opportunities to serve:

Saturday, April 20 at Growing Futures Early Education Center– The class will assist with spring cleaning. Activities will include washing windows, sprucing up the garden area and playground, and cleaning toys.

Saturday, April 27 with Friends of JCDS – The class will be helping with demo and repairs at their newest housing unit. The goal of Friends of JCDS is to remove barriers for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Johnson County.

Saturday, May 11 at Walmart Roeland Park – The class will run a “Birthday Box” drive for children at KVC hospital. The birthday boxes are themed and filled with all the essentials to throw birthday parties for children in local hospitals.
