Troy Kiwanis wants to personally invite you to our non-profit Wine Tasting Mental Health Fundraiser on Friday, May 17 at the beautiful Troy Historic Village from 5:30 pm - 8 pm. We will have multiple local restaurants and activities along with music in an outside setting. Corporate sponsors include: Silver Level - Mike Savoie Chevrolet, Troy-Metro Agency, Kelly Services, Inc., and Bronze Level - ARISE Counseling & Training Institute.
Our focus is on helping youth with mental health and
breaking the stigma surrounding it. This year we are focusing on raising funds
for a NEW financial assistance program to help youth that need mental health
counseling but don't have the financial means. We know according to the CDC,
that 57% of girls have depression or feel hopeless during their youth.
According to the CEO of Girls Inc in May of 2023, this is the defining health
decline issue of our time.
Our mental health partners are Judson Center, ARISE
Counseling and Training Institute, and Bloomfield Child & Family Counseling
along with the Troy School District. We know that our youth are in a crisis and
school counselors are overwhelmed. These issues have been confirmed from
multiple conversations with the schools and The Judson Center.
There will be raffles, 50/50 raffles, cornhole competition,
music and heavy hor d'oeuvres provided by Carrabba's Italian Grill, Mission
BBQ, Fogo de Chao, Sedona Taphouse, and Achatz Homemade Pie Co.). Wine is
provided by Manny's Liquor Shoppe of Troy. Wear your Hawaiian themed outfit to
win a prize! Must be 21 to wine taste
