Grifols is a global health-care company and a recognized leader in the development and production of plasma-derived medicines that are produced from donations of human plasma that treat chronically-ill patient populations. We are proud to operate 5 plasma donor centers in the Rio Grande Valley employing close to 200 people form the local community. These employees along with committed plasma donors are helping meet the needs of patients with rare and chronic conditions who rely on life-saving plasma medicines.  These centers are also leading Grifols efforts in giving back to the local community as seen by their on-going partnership and support of the Food Bank of Rio Grande Valley. 

Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley is Texas’s seventh largest food bank, serving up to 146,000 people in the Valley experiencing food insecurity. 

The J.A. Grifols Foundation is committed to helping meet the needs of the community and plasma donors. Their actions are focused on intensifying and prioritizing the most significant needs in the communities where plasma donors live. The Foundation awards community enhancement grants to support civic, social, or educational programs that address the needs of the communities where Grifols plasma donor centers exist.

This event will be celebrated with an official program that will include a check presentation on the behalf of the J.A Grifols Foundation to the Food Bank of Rio Grande followed by a tours of the center.
