Nature of Work:

Under general supervision, coordinate, implement, expand, and evaluate internal and external events, and performs related work as required. This position is part time; not to exceed 1,000 hours per year.  

Primary Duties:

= Serve as staff liaison for appropriate special event volunteer committees and provide ongoing support to event committees. 

= Collaborate cross-departmentally to ensure adequate lead time for the planning and execution of all major events.  

= Oversee event logistics, including but not limited to: set up/tear down, donor correspondence, volunteer recruitment and supervision, vendor management, contract administration, equipment rental, supply inventory, etc. 

= Coordinate the on-site event environment; including but not limited to: food, props, audio/visual, awards, signage, displays, name tags, staffing, etc. – long days/light lifting. 

= Maintain accurate records and adhere to strict budgets. 


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

= Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.

= Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

= Extremely high level of customer service.

= Multi-tasker with the ability to prioritize.

= Organized with a careful attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications:

1-2 years in event planning/hospitality industry, or a non-profit environment.

College degree or equivalent.
