Although my family didn't move to Allen until 1974, my grandparents had been here since 1960. My grandfather owned a small business (S & R Appliance) in McKinney and spent time in most of the homes here repairing appliances. I attended Allen schools from 1974 through my graduation in 1979, playing football and basketball (Go Bruisin' Blue) before leaving for college on a basketball scholarship. I consider Allen my hometown and want to help it flourish and help others find their home here.
