The Furthering Community Unity (FCU) Team powered by Shell FCU completed their ninth annual “Supplies for Students” drive benefitting a school in Deer Park, Pasadena, La Porte, Pearland, Clear Creek, Spring, Galena Park and Humble Independent School Districts.

Throughout the month of July, all nine Shell FCU locations collected monetary and school supply donations. Employees sold chili dogs and Frito pies as well as hosted bake sales in the lobbies for their members to help raise more money. In total, the FCU Team raised $2,700 to purchase school supplies for the designated school districts.

Due to the events surrounding Hurricane Harvey, the FCU Team powered by Shell FCU has purchased gift cards for each school with the funds raised to give students affected by the storm. Each school will receive $300 in gift cards to distribute to those in need. Thanks to the efforts of the community, Shell FCU members and employees, the 2017 Supplies for Students drive was a huge success.

The FCU Team powered by Shell FCU was created to provide volunteer opportunities in our communities and to teach the value of social responsibility in a fun team setting. To learn more about the FCU Team please visit or contact Leo Pereda at .
