Plant Manager at Its Pasadena Plastics Complex PASADENA, TEXAS (March 1, 2017) - Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP (Chevron Phillips Chemical) announces today Gary Piana has been named plant manager of Chevron Phillips Chemical’s Pasadena Plastics Complex as Michael Gilbert retires after nearly 40 years of service. Gary has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rutgers University and has worked in various positions domestically and internationally for Chevron and Chevron Phillips Chemical, serving as Orange plant manager, Cedar Bayou operations manager, Pasadena technical/EHS manager, Pasadena maintenance manager and Q-Chem plant manager. “Gary has demonstrated a strong safety focus, in-depth knowledge of our manufacturing process, and proven management skills throughout his career,” said Scott Sharp, senior vice president of manufacturing at Chevron Phillips Chemical. “I am confident Gary will bring that same level of leadership to his new role in the community.” Michael began his career with Gulf Oil in 1978 as a chemical engineer. He has held a number of positions with increasing responsibility at various locations within Gulf Oil, Chevron and Chevron Phillips Chemical. During his time as plant manager at the Pasadena Plastics Complex, Michael was a regular volunteer at Morales Elementary School in Pasadena ISD for the Helping One Student To Succeed (H.O.S.T.S) mentor program.
