Grocery shopping has never been easier! H-E-B celebrated the grand opening of their curbside pick-up service at 7811 McPherson Road on Thursday.

H-E-B Curbside is an innovative shopping option designed to save customers time while offering all the products and savings available in-store.

“Curbside is an amazing new feature that H-E-B has to offer their customers,” Irene Franco, curbside manager, said. “We are well-trained. We are on a mission to serve (our customers) at 100 percent to make sure they’re satisfied.”

Rick Vera, H-E-B public affairs coordinator, walked Laredo Morning Times through how a customer can order through the curbside service.

Customers can use the curbside service in four steps. First, customers visit HEB.com or download the H-E-B app and create an account. Next, they make a grocery list and place their orders online. After, they schedule a pick-up time keeping in mind that orders must be placed at least four hours before the scheduled pick-up time. Finally, customers can pick up their groceries. Curbside partners are even committed to loading the groceries into your car for you.

“Right now, everyone is busy and constantly on the go,” Vera said. “We are taking a lot of that work from the customer’s hands. We just want to help customers who are on the go or who cannot maneuver around the store as easily.”

The H-E-B app is user friendly and offers features like curbside. It can help customers remember what they’ve ordered or edit as they see fit. The app helps users keep everything in one place.

“We are very excited about our new department,” Franco said. “We have been here for about two months. And anybody that is apprehensive, try it. You’ll end up placing more than one order, I’ll guarantee it.”

There is no minimum order required for curbside pick-up. Customers can place orders anytime and can schedule orders up to seven days in advance.
