JBT  Donates $50,000 to Help Annville Free Library Write the Next Chapter

Jonestown, PA – Aug. 18, 2021: Jonestown Bank & Trust Co. (JBT) has made a $50,000 donation to the Annville Free Library in support of the library’s Writing the Next Chapter capital campaign.

JBT President and CEO Troy A. Peters presented the donation to the Annville Free Library during Old Annville Day on August 14.

JBT is happy to support the Annville Free Library as it expands not only its physical location, but also the services they provide,” said Peters. “The library is central to our community and it is a safe environment for people to connect and bring the community together. As the local community bank, this is the kind of project that impacts Annville and the surrounding area in such a positive way that we knew we wanted to be involved.”

The Writing the Next Chapter campaign is designed to enable the library to meet the demand for increased programming for all ages. Upgrades to the facility will include technology improvements, a community room, expanded space for children and youth, study rooms, an area for socializing, a creativity center where people of all ages can make and take their own creations, improved access for those with disabilities, expanded help desk and resource areas and more.

“There’s no doubt the needs of our community are changing,” said Martin Brandt, Annville Free Library Board President. “Our vision is a merger of traditional library services and those of a community center. In order to accomplish all that we believe Annville Free Library can be in the future, having the support of business leaders like JBT is not only very appreciated, it’s vital. We are grateful to JBT for taking such a significant role in helping us achieve our vision.”
