Just three months after its acquisition of the Lourdes Health System, Virtua Health is introducing its new brand to the South Jersey community through several sign reveal ceremonies at the five Virtua Health hospitals. The invigorated brand conveys Virtua’s steadfast commitment to the people of South Jersey. One major change to the logo is the inclusion of the word “Health” in the brand name.

WHY - Brand Information:
With the acquisition of Lourdes, Virtua has expanded its services to provide a more complete spectrum of care. Virtua has opened new locations and broadened its workforce to include nearly 14,000 talented individuals. The new brand helps tell that story by honoring the past while creating something fresh and forward-thinking.
The new logo is a multi-color icon inspired by the lotus flower, a globally recognized symbol of serenity and healing. In addition to the lotus, the icon is open to a number of interpretations, including a caring heart, outstretched hands, and the letter V. It consists of four colors -ocean, sky, coral, and sun - that intentionally calls to mind trust and hope.
Chalk the Walks:
Simple messages of hope, encouragement, and inspiration can be profoundly meaningful. On Monday, Oct. 7, Virtua colleagues will adorn the sidewalks outside their hospitals, with colorful chalk messages, giving patients and guests a reason to stop and smile. Additionally, Virtua has recruited the talents of roving street artists to chalk meaningful messages in public spaces across the region. Look for the new Virtua logo and the hashtag #HereForGood. This project is an extension of the summer-long #VirtuaRocks campaign, in which colleagues painted motivational phrases on river rocks and placed them in their respective neighborhoods for others to find and appreciate.

New Brand / Brand New:
Virtua will celebrate its new brand with its brand-new babies. The first 100 babies born at Virtua hospitals (in Camden, Mount Holly, and Voorhees) on and after Monday, Oct. 7 will receive a limited-run t-shirt that features the colorful new logo. Virtua will also present special commemorative items to the first 50 heart surgery patients and first 50 transplant patients following the brand launch.

Acts of Goodness:
Each day, Virtua colleagues demonstrate that they are here for good; not only through their careers, but also in the ways they support and sustain healthy communities. In the weeks ahead, Virtua colleagues will post about their volunteer efforts on social media and use the hashtag #HereForGood.
