The Railroad District of Ridgeland Ribbon Cutting/Reveal
11/07/2019 03:27 PM
City officials gathered at The Plaza at Old Town Crossing to celebrate the renaming of the historical district, now known as The Railroad District of Ridgeland. The name comes from the important role the Illinois Central Railroad played in the founding of Ridgeland in 1832. The street running parallel to the railroad was also renamed - Old Town Crossing. Many thanks to the City of Ridgeland, members of the Historical Society and Jackson Street merchants for this special day!
