The members of the Ridgeland Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors and staff send their deepest condolences to the Graham family and to Dr. Tom Phillips, Vice President of the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, NC.  Dr. Phillips served as the Chamber's keynote speaker in December 2014 for our annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast at Colonial Heights Baptist Church.  Dr. Phillips brought greetings and well wishes from Reverend Graham to Mayor Gene McGee, business owners, their staff and residents of Ridgeland.
In May 1975, as a reporter for The Clarion-Ledger, I was fortunate to be assigned to interview Reverend Graham prior to his Jackson Crusade at Mississippi Memorial Stadium.  Our interview, inside a trailer parked on the stadium's grounds, is one that I will never forget.  This was Reverend Graham's second and last visit to the Magnolia State.  Arguably, the most important religious leader of the 20th century, Reverend Graham preached the Gospel to over 215 million people in more than 185 countries.  He influenced the lives of millions, lived with integrity and changed our world.  Reverend Graham was certainly a humble shepherd of the Lord.
