02/18/2019 02:57 PM
Bloomfield Township Public Library invites area residents to participate in MetroNet’s 2019 Everyone’s Reading program. Now in its eighteenth year, this community-wide event joins together seven Metro Detroit public libraries through the shared experience of reading and discussing the same book, culminating with an opportunity to hear the author speak.

The selected title for 2019 is Kiss Carlo by Adriana Trigiani, which is a multi-generational story that celebrates the unique bond of tight-knit families and the importance of staying true to oneself when all hope seems lost. Ms. Trigiani is a worldwide bestselling author of over 15 books, as well as a playwright, television writer/producer, and filmmaker.

Patrons of participating libraries are invited to hear Trigiani speak at one of two ticketed events: Tuesday, April 2 at 7 p.m. at Temple Beth El in Bloomfield Hills and Wednesday, April 3 at 7 p.m. at Adat Shalom Synagogue in Farmington Hills. For Bloomfield Township residents, a limited number of free tickets will be available at the Bloomfield Township Public Library beginning Monday, March 4 at 9:30 a.m. Tickets are limited to two per patron on a first-come, first-served basis at the Adult Services desk, or by registering online at www.btpl.org. Patrons of other participating libraries should contact their home library for more information and ticket availability.

Please visit the event website at www.everyonesreading.org for more information, including a reading guide and discussion questions. Additional information can be found by visiting the library’s website at www.btpl.org or by calling (248) 642-5800.
