School System to Sponsor Transition Fair for Students with Disabilities

Carroll County Public Schools will sponsor a Transition Fair on Friday, March 24, 2017, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Carroll Community College. The fair is designed for students with disabilities in grades 10, 11, 12 and postsecondary who have Individualized Educational Plans/504 Plans and their families.


The Transition Fair is designed to provide information to students with disabilities and their parents as the students prepare for life beyond high school. Participants will have the opportunity to attend a number of breakout sessions. Session topics will include: (a) achieving your dream job, (b) becoming your own self-advocate, (c) wills, trusts and estate planning, (d) coordination of community services, (e) enhancing independence, (f) financial aid for college, (g) college disability support services, (h) enhancing communication for employment opportunities, and many other topics to assist students as they plan for the future.
