FFA Ag Mechanics Teams Advance to State Competition

FFA Ag Mechanics teams from Francis Scott Key, Manchester Valley, Westminster, and Winters Mill High Schools competed in the regional agricultural mechanics competition. The event was held on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Francis Scott Key High School.

The competitions covered skills in electrical, hydraulics, small engine repair, and welding.  Students were ranked on a team level and individually.  The top three teams will advance to the state FFA competition. The team rankings are listed below:

1st Place – Westminster High School

Team Members: Henry Brunnett, Daniel Yingling, Matt DeLang, and John Martin

Advisor: Aaron Geiman

2nd Place – Francis Scott Key High School

Team Members: Grant Shaw, Nick Goodman, Ryan Arnold, and Grant McKenzie

Advisor: Joe Linthicum

3rd Place – Winters Mill High School

Team Members: Todd DeGasperi, Melanie Martin, Kait Beardsley, and Kyle Clayton

Advisor: Diane Safar

In the individual rankings, Henry Brunnett from Westminster High School placed 1st, Grant Shaw from Francis Scott Key High School placed 2nd, and Daniel Yingling from Westminster High School placed 3rd.
