Bob Gibbs’s new book, Town Planning Principles has become a best seller in Japan. Gibbs illustrates American best practices for designing cities and new town centers for Japanese planners and real estate developers as an alternative to suburban sprawl. The book features numerous US cities and town centers including Detroit, Troy and the Village of Rochester. Gibbs has been based in Birmingham since 1990 and is currently developing Birmingham’s 20-Year City-Wide Master Plan with DPZ and McKenna.
