Mid-Shore Pro Bono connects low income individuals and families who have civil legal issues with local volunteer attorneys and community resources. Programs we offer include:
Family Law Project:
Clients facing divorce, custody, support and other family law issues will receive excellent service from our experienced staff.
Elder Law Project:
MSPB recognizes that a growing proportion of the Eastern Shore residents are seniors. To better serve these individuals, we offer clinics in each County as well as direct assistance with end of life documents. We partner with the area's Senior Centers to make our services accessible to these residents.
Economic Stability Project:
This program focused on clients who have legal matters that impact their ability to obtain gainful employment, homeownership and financial well being. Homeowners on the Shore have a place to turn if they are facing foreclosure. On-going assistance is available to homeowners to navigate through the loan modification and foreclosure process. Other issues such as Consumer Debt, Bankruptcy and Record Expungement are addressed here.
MSPB holds weekly Civil Legal Services Clinics to address the need for general legal services for our residents.
Community Conferencing is an Alternate Dispute Resolution process using Restorative Justice principles and is focused on keeping our region’s youth out of the juvenile justice system.
Vulnerable Population Assistance Project
The project’s primary objective is to provide a secure and safe environment for this vulnerable population to receive legal assistance and counseling to advise them of their rights so they may protect their families. MSPB is accredited by the Department of Justice to provide limited Immigration Legal Services.
