Electrical Estimator/Project Manager

Job Responsibilities:

Review the blueprints and specs for potential jobs in order to provide competitive pricing to clients.

· Use software to perform takeoffs, build item assemblies, and produce detailed bid reports of materials, labor, and other costs needed to  complete the job. 

· Procure equipment and fixture pricing for specified job materials. Review for completeness and accuracy.

· Write detailed scope of work descriptions to accompany bid submittals.

· Maintain good working relationships with the estimating departments of general contractors and clients with whom we regularly do  business. 

· Act as client liaison for the foreman on projects, answering questions as they come up.

· Communicate with clients about aspects of their jobs with respect, clarity, and in a timely fashion.

· Write purchase orders, manage material stock on jobsites, obtain permits, and manage equipment for large jobs.

· Work with the office manager to schedule field staff to best utilize man-power hours.

· Ensuring all tools and equipment that are needed for a job are onsite, and in good working order when required by field staff.

· Review each jobsite and develop a list of possible hazards and produce a safe work report to assist the field crew in creating a safe working environment.

· Attend active job meetings to get questions answered and report on our progress as required by client. Meet with key contacts (architects, engineers, general contractors, owners, maintenance personnel, code, officials, vendors, management, and technicians)

· Other tasks as assigned by the president of the company to facilitate smoothly run jobs that end on time and on budget.

Requirements

Skills and qualifications:

· Good working knowledge of and experience with electrical systems and construction.

· Excellent communication in written and verbal forms.

· The ability to manage all aspects of a job including obtaining permits, scheduling work hours, stocking jobsites with proper materials, etc.

· Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and negotiating skills.

· Dedicated and motivated individual who will work to create a high level of customer satisfaction on every job.

· Able to keep accurate records of job details and costs and give detailed reports

· Skilled at estimating time, materials, equipment, and other expenses needed to complete a project

· Proficient knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and construction safety requirements.

· 3-5 years experience as an estimator

· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software

· Experience with ConEst software is a preferred, but not required.

Key Results: The ideal candidate will be able to submit timely, accurate, competitive, and profitable bids to potential and existing clients. They will keep accurate records and be able to produce detailed reports on all aspects of a job. They will manage projects in such a fashion as to end on time and on budget, while meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
