Java Jam fans that attended the
highly rated Merle Haggard Tribute presented by Mickey Reynolds a few months
ago will be happy to know that he is at it again. Backed by the Java Jam Band
the tribute night will include such famous tunes as “I’m so Lonesome I Could
Cry,” “Your Cheatin’ Heart,” “Hey, Good Lookin’,” “Lovesick Blues,” “Kawliga,”
“Take These Chains,” “Mind Your Own Business,” “I Saw the Light,” and as many
others as time will allow.
Totally miserable and totally
brilliant. That
is probably a good description of Hank Williams Sr. He was the archetype of
country music. He was not an archetype, but the archetype.
Hard living,
hard drinking, hard to stay in a relationship, but indescribably attractive on
stage with his guitar and his very recognizable voice made him the star he
wished to be.
From cheating songs to honkytonk
blues, to gospel he covered it all. His hard living caught up with him at the
age of 29 on his way to another gig with very little sleep, alcohol and pain
killers in his system, he left his many fans devastated, as he lay dead in the
back seat of his Cadillac.
