                Texas AgriLife Extension Service of Parker County will offer Tools for Parenting classes September 19 and 20. The classes will be from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will take place at the Parker County Agricultural Service center that is located at 604 North Main Street in Weatherford. The topic will be Courageous Parenting with Jim Morrow being the lecturer.  The topic will include: Parenting Pyramid, Tactical Communication, Having a Heart of Peace and Not War, and Secrets of a Happy Family. There will be also a nutrition series that will include Fresh Start to a Healthy You that include tips for healthy eating, food safety and shopping strategies for parents                The cost to attend the two day class is $10.00. Join United Way of Parker County and their Community Partner Agencies in celebrating North Texas Giving Day on Thursday, September 20th at Heritage Park Pavillion. Come and go as you please between 11am and 2pm, grab lunch and a treat from one of the local food trucks, and learn about some of the most influential non-profits in our county. Admission is free and donations are appreciated. Let's spread the news about what's happening in our community!

The Quilter's Guild of Parker County will hold their bi-annual Quilt Show on Friday, September 21 and Saturday, September 22.  The hours will be from 9:00 to 4:00 both days.  This show will feature beautiful quilts, a "Quilts with a Story" bed turning, vendors, a County Store with handmade crafts, a Mini Quilt Auction, and Door Prizes. Raffle opportunites will include our prize winning 2018 Raffle Quilt "Blooming Boots, an antique sewing machine as well as several baskets of quilting goodies. 

Makinley is 8 years old and was diagnosed with Leukemia Type B on Aug 19, 2018. We are hosting and indoor and outdoor archery shoot to help raise money to pay the bills.
