A Matter of Balance a Fall Prevention Program for Older Adul
A Matter of Balance is a nationally recognized program that is conducted in cooperation with the North Central Texas Area Agency on Aging. It is a fall prevention program that helps older adults reduce the risk of devastating falls. The classes will be lessons on exploring thoughts and concerns of falls. There will be information on ways to increasing strength and balance through exercise. The series will also help individuals identify ways to reduce the risk of falls and help older adults protect themselves and recover if they do fall.
Classes will take place March 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27, 29, 2017. Classes will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon each day.

Auditions for THE TAMING OF THE SHREW by William Shakespeare

ONLY TWO SHOWS - TO BE PERFORMED AT THE NEW HERITAGE PARK AMPHITHEATER

SYNOPSIS:

The comedy involves the courtship of Petruchio and Katharina, the headstrong shrew. At first, Katharina is an unwilling participant in the relationship, but Petruchio tempers her with various torments - "taming" - until she becomes an obedient and compliant bride. The side story in the play concerns a competition between the suitors of Katharina's more desirable sister, Bianca.

Katharina, the Shrew - Age 19-30
Bianca, sister of Katherina - Age 17-25
Baptista, father of Katherina & Bianca - Age 40-60
Petruchio, suitor of Katherina - Age 25-35
Gremio, elder suitor of Bianca - Age 55-70
Hortensio, Bianca's suitor, friend to Petruchio - Age 25-35
Lucentio, suitor of Bianca - Age 18-30
Vincentio, Lucentio's father - Age 50-70
Tranio, servant to Lucentio - Age 18-30
Biondello,servant to Lucentio - Age 25-40
Grumio, servant to Petruchio - Age 20-30

INFORMATION:

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.

Auditions will be held at 6:30 pm on Monday, March 6 and on Tuesday, March 7.  Call backs, if needed, will be on Wednesday, March 8, also at 6:30 pm.
