Jana Brock, M.D.
Sports medicine is more than just orthopedics, as Dr. Jana Brock demonstrates in her practice. She is highly skilled to treat musculoskeletal injuries but is also well-trained in addressing more traditional medical concerns, such as exercise-induced asthma and hypertension. For this reason, she is an excellent health care partner for active individuals and athletic teams.
Dr. Brock is a Primary Care Sports Medicine physician and is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. She went on to receive her medical degree from The University of Texas Medical School-Houston. She completed her Family Medicine internship and residency at the University of Missouri-Columbia before gaining specialized fellowship training in Sports Medicine from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock.
During her fellowship training, Dr. Brock learned first hand from practicing orthopedic surgeons and primary sports medicine physicians about the various treatments and surgeries required by some patients with sports injuries. Additionally, she completed a rigorous examination covering the medical and musculoskeletal aspects of sports injuries to earn a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in sports medicine to complement her primary care training. She is currently the team physician for the Texas Revolution indoor football league in Allen as well as for Wylie East High School. Dr. Brock is also an active member of the The American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) . When not caring for her patients, Dr. Brock enjoys being active, dancing, reading and spending time with her family
