Tanasi Needle Felting

Tanasi Arts & Heritage Center will be hosting artist in residence, Brittany Smith, from March 19 to 23. Visit the Tanasi Arts gallery to see Brittany’s demonstrations of needle felting between the hours of 10 am and 5 pm on March 19 through 21 and 23 with no registration required. There will be a hands on event on Thursday, March 22 from 6 to 8 pm, and please register for this event at www.tanasiarts.org/events. Needle felting is the sculpting of wool fiber or similar fibers using a specific, barbed felting needle.

Hosted by Emmanuel Christian Seminary at Milligan, this 17 th annual conference is an
academic gathering presented by Stone-Campbell International, which provides a
scholarly platform for the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement. The theme for the
2018 conference is “Theology of Others: Judaism, Islam, and ‘None-of- the-Aboves.’”
Plenary speakers include Ellen Charry, Margaret W. Harmon Professor of Theology,
from Princeton Theological Seminary; Evertt Huffard, dean, Harding School of
Theology; and Richard Knopp, professor of philosophy & Christian apologetics, Lincoln
Christian University.

Over the Edge
Be a part of an inaugural event as participants rappel down the 'Bristol' tower at Bristol Motor Speedway.  This event has the potential to reaise money for both the YWCA and Speedway Children's Charity.  

Participants going over the edge will each have achieved the goal of raising $1,500 or more for the campaign in order to reserve their spot.  Companies wishing to 'Toss their Boss' will raise $5,000.  

Sponsorships are available for the event.  Proceeds from the event will support children and families in need in northeast TN and southwest VA>

Join Tanasi Arts as we learn the art of pine needle basketry. At this event, you will have the opportunity to  learn the basic techniques of creating a pine needle basket. Materials will be provided, and you will learn where to purchase materials in the future. You won’t be able to complete your basket at the event as it is a very intricate process, but you will leave with a partially completed basket and the knowledge you need to complete it and start another one.
