Women in Song Choral Festival Concert

Mary B. Martin Auditorium, Seeger Chapel
Back for a second year, Milligan will co-host a festival for female singers from across the
region. Guest clinician Joan Szymko, a prominent composer of choral music from the

Pacific Northwest, will lead the festival, including opportunities for participants to learn
new music and increase musical skills. Also, the finale concert will include performances
by the college’s Women's Chorale, conducted by Dr. Noah DeLong, as well as Bella
Voce, Cantemus, and the East Tennessee Belles of ETSU. The festival registration fee is
$10, which includes music and Saturday dinner; the finale concert is free and open to the
public.

Feeding America Food Drive

Feeding America Food Drive
Forty-one million Americans, including 15 million children, live at risk of hunger. In conjunction with the League of American Orchestra's Feeding America program, JCSO will have a food drive to benefit Second Harvest of Northeast Tennessee during the week of March 19-24. Suggested donations include Cereal/ Rice/ Dried Beans/ Canned Soups/ Peanut Butter/ Canned Meat/ Canned Veggies and Fruits/ Mac & Cheese/ Pasta Sauce & Noodles. You can drop off your donations at the JCSO office located at 172 W. Springbrook Dr. between 1 and 5 pm, Monday through Friday.,

Tanasi Needle Felting

Tanasi Arts & Heritage Center will be hosting artist in residence, Brittany Smith, from March 19 to 23. Visit the Tanasi Arts gallery to see Brittany’s demonstrations of needle felting between the hours of 10 am and 5 pm on March 19 through 21 and 23 with no registration required. There will be a hands on event on Thursday, March 22 from 6 to 8 pm, and please register for this event at www.tanasiarts.org/events. Needle felting is the sculpting of wool fiber or similar fibers using a specific, barbed felting needle.

Hosted by Emmanuel Christian Seminary at Milligan, this 17 th annual conference is an
academic gathering presented by Stone-Campbell International, which provides a
scholarly platform for the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement. The theme for the
2018 conference is “Theology of Others: Judaism, Islam, and ‘None-of- the-Aboves.’”
Plenary speakers include Ellen Charry, Margaret W. Harmon Professor of Theology,
from Princeton Theological Seminary; Evertt Huffard, dean, Harding School of
Theology; and Richard Knopp, professor of philosophy & Christian apologetics, Lincoln
Christian University.

Over the Edge
Be a part of an inaugural event as participants rappel down the 'Bristol' tower at Bristol Motor Speedway.  This event has the potential to reaise money for both the YWCA and Speedway Children's Charity.  

Participants going over the edge will each have achieved the goal of raising $1,500 or more for the campaign in order to reserve their spot.  Companies wishing to 'Toss their Boss' will raise $5,000.  

Sponsorships are available for the event.  Proceeds from the event will support children and families in need in northeast TN and southwest VA>
