America

SUNDAY • FEBRUARY 24 • 7:30 PM

Orchestra: $60 | Mezzanine: $55 | Balcony: $50

Starting in the late 1960s in London, high school friends Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell (along with former band mate Dan Peek), quickly harmonized their way to the top of the charts on the strength of their signature song “A Horse With No Name.” America became a global household name and paved the way with an impressive string of hits following the success of their first #1 single. Forty plus years later, these friends are still making music together, touring the world and thrilling audiences with their timeless sound.

Their best-known tunes “I Need You,” “Ventura Highway,” “Don’t Cross The River,” “Tin Man,” “Lonely People,” and “Sister Golden Hair” were cornerstones of 1970s Top 40 and FM Rock radio. From their formative years, America has been a band capable of transcending borders with its uplifting music and positive message. Embracing a rainbow of divergent cultures, America’s audiences continue to grow, comprising a loyal legion of first, second and third generation fans, all bearing testament to the group’s enduring appeal.

Dustin Prytle is the group’s tenor/lead singer and plays the guitar. Eli Johnston, who plays bass, shares lead and tenor vocals with Dustin. Stephen Burwell is on the fiddle.

Succession Planning/ Exit Planning Workshop

70% of family businesses do NOT pass successfully to the second generation   Join your fellow business owners at: GAAM Wealth Advisors Inc. 6 Sheridan Square #200, Kingsport, TN 37660   At some point each of us will need to plan the succession of our business. We can either do so by reacting to circumstances beyond our control, which may result in a loss of value to the business, or though a Succession Plan to preserve the value and place our business where we want it to be.

What we will discuss:

Set your Succession Goals
· When? How much longer do you want to run the business yourself? Is there a trigger event such as when you want to retire or when a successor such as a child will be old enough or trained well enough to take over?
· What’s next for you? Will you exit the business or remain involved?
· How Much? How much value will you need to realize at the sale or transition of the business to live the life style you would like?
· Who? Will you sell the business or turn it over to a family member or key employee?

Moscow Festival Ballet: Don Quixote at NPAC

Moscow Festival Ballet: Don Quixote at NPAC
In his library, the old nobleman Don Quixote de la Mancha, sits over his books which tell him of distant times of knighthood. Soon he believes himself called to knightly deeds, appoints his servant Sancha Panza, his squire, and sails forth into the world to seek adventures in the service of the beautiful Dulcinea, whom he has glimpsed in a vision.

Leading dancers from across Russia have forged, under Sergei Radchencko’s direction, an exciting new company staging a new production of the timeless classic, Don Quixote.

The Moscow Festival Ballet was founded in 1989 when legendary principal dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet Sergei Radchenko sought to realize his vision of a company which would bring together the highest classical elements of the great Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet companies in an independent new company within the framework of Russian classic ballet. Since its inception, the Moscow Festival Ballet has completed multiple tours throughout the world to enthusiastic audiences.

The spring session will be held at the Eastman Lodge in Kingsport from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The half-day workshop for professional women will feature four accomplished presenters with a diverse set of expertise in global public affairs, lobbying, higher education, leadership, and professional counseling. With decades of experience and wisdom to share, each session promises take-aways that directly address the challenges and potentials of professional women.

Key take-aways include:

=         An understanding of strategic focus and advantageous momentum while identifying “unconscious bias” for maximum impact and productivity.

=         How to embrace your authentic self for greater confidence, empowerment, and engagement.

=         How to cultivate self-acceptance to overcome unhealthy emotional patterns and be proactive towards wellness and balance.

Assistant Vice President of HomeTrust Bank, Peggy Littleton, shares, “At HomeTrust, 85% of our branch managers across 40+ retail banking locations are women. Professional development, especially for women, is so important to help us take the next step in our career. I love being able to introduce Emerge to team members who are in different phases of their career. They always come back energized and armed with information that they can directly apply to their role.”

Get The Led Out: The American Led Zeppelin at NPAC

Get The Led Out: The American Led Zeppelin at NPAC
From the bombastic and epic, to the folky and mystical, Get The Led Out (GTLO) has captured the essence of the recorded music of Led Zeppelin and brought it to the concert stage. The Philadelphia-based group consists of 6 veteran musicians intent on delivering Led Zeppelin live, like you’ve never heard before. Utilizing the multi-instrumentalists at their disposal, GTLO re-creates the songs in all their depth and glory with the studio overdubs that Zeppelin themselves never performed. When you hear three guitars on the album…GTLO delivers 3 guitarists on stage. No wigs or fake English accents, GTLO brings what the audience wants…a high energy Zeppelin concert with an honest, heart-thumping intensity.
