The 5th Annual TENNESSEE PRO MOTOCROSS NATIONAL at Muddy Creek Raceway.

The fastest pro riders in America and from around the world battle on the highly regarded Muddy Creek Raceway. Muddy Creek Raceway is a top destination for motocross enthusiasts since the 1970s. This is the only time the AMA PRO racing comes to the Southeast. There will be amateur racing on Friday and Sunday. You will find lots of vending, concessions, activities on Friday Evening, and bleachers spread around the facility.

Storytelling Live! with Ed Stivender

A self-described “full-time daydreamer who moonlights as a storyteller,” Ed Stivender has toured the world since 1981 presenting his one-man shows in Austria, Ireland, New Zealand, Indonesia, and in festivals across the U.S.  Known for his delightful mixture of whimsy, wit and wisdom, he invites his audience into an interactive dance of the imagination.

The author of two books of coming-of-age stories, his writing has appeared in Reader’s DigestCatholic Digest, and Chicken Soup for the Romantic Soul.  Stivender, an NSN ORACLE Circle of Excellence award recipient, is also an award-winning Philadelphia Mummer.

Joe Herrington is a novelist, cowboy poet and Western storyteller who has been billed across the American West as the “Prairie Sage.”  Herrington’s poems and stories are homespun and told in the Western tradition of honor, courage and rugged characters.  He has been a finalist for multiple Academy of Western Artists awards and been recognized among the top Western storytellers/poets in the country.

Citizens are invited to put on their dancing shoes and join Senior Services the first and third Friday of each month to dance the night away. Memorial Park Community Center, 510 Bert St., will host Friday Night Dances from 7-10 p.m. The Shooter Band will perform on July 7.

Cost is $5 with a discount for Silver Sneakers® eligible participants. Please pre-register at the Senior Services desk or pay at the door.

Utilize your power of storytelling to inspire and motivate. Kim blends her mastery of humor, storytelling, and communication into her presentations, making them entertaining, enlightening, and educational.

Kim Weitkamp presents and leads workshops internationally. She has coached and provided private consultations to business leaders, non-profit directors, team leaders, staff and volunteer staff. She has keynoted for some of Forbes’ most admired companies and has done long-term coaching and consulting with organizations such as Feeding America and Purina Nestle.

Working with companies on strategic planning, marketing, building sales teams, internal communication flow, and external results, Kim has gone into the trenches with large corporations for both short and long-term projects, helping them untangle issues and see new ways of problem solving and creating.

Kim has assisted internal marketing teams in guiding product launches, building story lines and content marketing. She has helped build training content from the ground up, developing content that doesn't just sound good, but is practical and applicable to the team on the street. Storytelling Live! with Dan Keding

Internationally acclaimed storyteller, musician, and author, Dan Keding is known for his telling of world folktales, personal narratives of his Chicago boyhood, ghost stories and superbly crafted original pieces.  As a child he learned stories of the old country from his Croatian grandmother.

A well-respected ballad singer, Keding accompanies himself on guitar, banjo and spoons.  He has performed across the world, including festivals in England, Ireland and Canada. A recording artist and author, Keding’s numerous awards include two Anne Izard Storytelling Choice awards and the NSN ORACLE Circle of Excellence award.

33rd Annual Kawasaki Tennesee State Motocross Championship

This event is one of the largest state championship races in America. Riders will come from at least 15 different states to compete for the title of TENNESSEE STATE CHAMPION. There will be at least 42 classes of racers competing on Sunday.
