NealThe Lawton Arts & Humanities Council has chosen to discuss the theme, “The Journey Inward: Women’s Autobiography. This theme was developed with funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities. The program, Let’s Talk About it, Oklahoma, is a discussion group that comes together for a five-part, scholar-led series. Each scholar opens the program, bringing the book to life, provoking the group’s curiosity with insights and raising questions that spark discussion. All book discussions are held at Cameron University Library every third Thursday of each month at 6pm."My Life" by Isadora Duncan is the fourth presentation of the five-part, scholar-led series.“Fascinating, even sensational reading.”- New York Times“Isadora was a wild voluptuary, a true revolutionary. She flouted every tradition. . . . She alone and unhelped changed the direction of her entire art.”- Agnes de MilleIsadora Duncan is considered the "Mother of Modern Dance", was a trailblazing dancer and instructor who emphasized freer forms of movement which were a precursor to modern dance techniques. Her autobiography "My Life" was published in 1927 the year of her death shortly has gone on to become a critically acclaimed work.
