On April 14th at 11:40pm the RMS Titanic struck an iceberg and less
than three hours later, at 2:20am on April 15th, the ship and 1500
passengers & crew perished in the icy Atlantic Ocean. The tragedy
was reported around the world and has fascinated people ever since. For
this event, guests will be entertained by a series of short
presentations relating to the doomed ship. Presentations will include
topics such as Heroes and Villains, The Band that Played On, and
Oklahoma Connections. There will also be Titanic era and Titanic
related antiques on hand.
The event is being held at the perfect venue - the Historic Mattie Beal Home. Because it shares some of the Titanic's timeline this will help guests get a feel for the era. Guests will be admitted in small groups to tour the home and listen to the various presenters and have an opportunity to ask questions.
Souvenirs will also be available for purchase on a cash only basis.
