R.M.S. Titanic: Heroes, Conspiracies, and OK Connections

Tickets are $10 each and they can be purchased online at Eventbrite or with cash at the door

On April 14th at 11:40pm the RMS Titanic struck an iceberg and less than three hours later, at 2:20am on April 15th, the ship and 1500 passengers & crew perished in the icy Atlantic Ocean. The tragedy was reported around the world and has fascinated people ever since. For this event, guests will be entertained by a series of short presentations relating to the doomed ship. Presentations will include topics such as Heroes and Villains, The Band that Played On, and Oklahoma Connections. There will also be Titanic era and Titanic related antiques on hand.

The event is being held at the perfect venue - the Historic Mattie Beal Home. Because it shares some of the Titanic's timeline this will help guests get a feel for the era. Guests will be admitted in small groups to tour the home and listen to the various presenters and have an opportunity to ask questions.

Souvenirs will also be available for purchase on a cash only basis.

The theme and presentations are family friendly; however the tour will last about an hour, so young children may become restless.

This event is hosted and presented by the History Club of Cameron University and all proceeds will be donated to the Lawton Heritage Association to support their continued work to preserve the past of Lawton, OK and nearby areas.
