Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Lawton is proud to present an Organ Recital by David Anderson on July 12 at 7p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. Mr. Anderson is was formerly the organist at Saint Andrew’s, 1313 D Avenue. Donations accepted.
David Anderson is an organist and church
musician from Charlotte, North Carolina. He graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota with degrees
in Sacred Music and Organ Performance, where he studied organ with John
Ferguson and Catherine Rodland, and conducting with Christopher Aspaas and
Anton Armstrong. His Master of Music
degree is from the University of Oklahoma, where he studied organ with John
Schwandt.
Currently, David is pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in Organ Performance from the American Organ Institute at the University of Oklahoma. He continues to study organ with John Schwandt. He works as a graduate assistant in the School of Music, rehearsing and accompanying the school’s early music choral Collegium Musicum. His previous assistantships at the University have included building and repairing organs in the American Organ Institute’s organ building shop, and processing the collections of the American Theater Organ Society in the archives of the AOI’s archives and library.
David serves as
music director and organist at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, a rapidly
growing parish in southwest Oklahoma City.
