Job Fair for High School Students

It is the beginning of the school year for Great Plains Technology Center and every year we have a rush of high school students looking for part-time jobs. If any of you are interested in hiring high school students, we will be hosting a small part-time job fair here on campus.

Participation in this event is free. A table, two chairs, and a power outlet (by request) will be available. The fair will be on September 29, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event will be held at our Lawton campus in Building 100, Student Break Area. Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Instruments Transformed!

17 pieces of art have been transformed by nine local artists and 6 international artists known across the country and world. The instruments will be auctioned on-line as a fundraiser for the Lawton Philharmonic. Artworks are on display at the Leslie Powell Gallery. The auction will end at 7:30 pm on October 6 when they have their Festive Finale. The doors will open at 6:30.

If you would like to view the artworks the Leslie Powell Gallery is open from Monday - Friday noon - 4 p.m.

Spirit of Survival

The Spirit of Survival has become one of the largest tourism attractions in Lawton and Oklahoma, drawing visitors to our community and funding cancer research. This year we've added several new events. This years events include SOS Bike 100, SOS half marathon, quarter marathon, 5k, Kids run, and Spirit Walk. Most importantly, the SOS supports those with cancer and their families in three cancer center locations throughout Southwest Oklahoma.

Featuring: Artillery Demonstrations with a 6-pdr. Muzzle Loading Cannon Crew. Gun Crew Demonstrations at the Old Post Quadrangle start at 9:00 and run through the day. Ladies! Mark your calendars for what is sure to be an exciting evening of food, fun and fashion! It’s our 14^th annual Ladies Night Out, Thursday, October 5th at the Hilton Garden Inn & Convention Center, from 5 til 9pm. Dillard’s will be showcasing their new fall line with a fashion show, lots of door prizes throughout the evening and you will WANT to stay to the end for our fabulous entertainer, Michael Hix and the Holla, sponsored by Apache Casino Hotel.
