The Tale of Peter Rabbit (and Benjamin Bunny

The Tale of Peter Rabbit (and Benjamin Bunny
February 23, the McMahon Memorial Auditorium will be home for “The Tale of Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny“. This favorite family musical, based on classic tales by Beatrix Potter, will enchant audiences as her books have since 1902. The journey begins when Peter Rabbit, unlike sisters Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail, follows the advice of his tummy (and his cousin, Benjamin) versus the advice of his mother. Everyone (and we mean everyone!) knows that you stay out of Mr. McGregor’s garden. However, Peter and Benjamin still venture into a world filled with excitement, adventure, and scrumptious vegetables! The thrills are just beginning when the angry farmer spots the silly bunnies. This sparkling musical is filled with delightful tunes that will delight the entire family. The production is presented by the award-winning Lawton Community Theater – celebrating their 65th year!
General Admission tickets are $5.00!
Ticket sales open Tuesday, January 9 at the McMahon Memorial Auditorium ticket office located at the auditorium’s west entrance. This production is approximately one-hour in length. While recommended for Pre-K thru 3rd grade, it is suitable for the entire family. Children 2-years and younger are admitted FREE! The ticket office hours are Monday through Friday from 10am to 12noon and 1pm to 4:30pm. Call 580-581-3472 for more information on purchasing tickets.
The project is supported in part by the Oklahoma Arts Council, which receives support from the State of Oklahoma and the National Endowment for the Arts. Additional support from the McMahon Auditorium Authority, Lawton Community Theater and the City of Lawton allows Lawton Arts & Humanities Council to offer this special rate.
The Oklahoma Arts Council is the official state agency for the support and development of the arts. The agency’s mission is to lead in the advancement of Oklahoma’s thriving arts industry. The Oklahoma Arts Council provides approximately 500 grants to almost 250 organizations in communities statewide each year, organizes professional development opportunities for the state’s arts and cultural industry, and manages hundreds of works of art in the public spaces of the state Capitol. Additional information is available at arts.ok.gov.
