The Jackson Area Alumnae Panhellenic Association, JAAPA, is hosting the 2015 Athena Luncheon Wednesday, March 25, at 11:30 a.m. at Manship Restaurant in the Belhaven Building, 1200 North State Street, across from Baptist Hospital. The luncheon will honor local Panhellenic members with the Athena Awards, award the 2015 JAAPA scholarship, and present this years philanthropy Make-A-Wish with a donation.
The Athena Awards are given out for two categories for Service to Community and Service to Sorority. Local alumni group was asked to submit nominations of a women who embodies each award. Our biggest undertaking each year is our Philanthropic Fund Raiser. This year JAAPA hosted a raffle to raise money for Make-A-Wish and provide the scholarship
awarded to a sorority collegian at Millsaps College. The 2015 JAAPA Scholarship will be presented to Faith Chamness the current Panhellenic President at Millsaps College. She is a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority and served as the delegate to Millsaps Panhellenic for the past two years. We hope you will mark your calendars to attend.
J.A.A.P.A. is affiliated with the National Panhellenic conference and offers sorority women a chance to meet each other and become involved in social, educational and philanthropic endeavors. This is a great way to maintain the bonds of sisterhood that you started in college with members of your own sorority, as well as members of other NPC fraternities. Currently, there are fourteen alumnae groups involved with JAAPA in the Jackson, MS Metro Area.
JAAPA, also works each year to educate high school senior women about sororities and the recruitment (formerly known as RUSH) process. Fore more recruitment information look for upcoming news on our website http://www.jacksonpanhellenic.com/.
